One person sent to hospital following two-vehicle collision involving school bus in RM of Portage la Prairie

On May 4, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a report that a school bus had been involved in a collision with a pickup truck.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 430 and Road 67 North, in the RM of Portage la Prairie. The truck was driving northbound on Highway 430 when it collided with the eastbound bus.

There were two teenage students on the bus at the time of the collision. They were uninjured, as was the 49-year-old male bus driver.

The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old male from Portage la Prairie, was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is being investigated.
