On May 11, 2026, at 6:50 AM, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver in a brown SUV on Mckenzie Avenue in Steinbach.
Reports were received advising that a female driver almost crashed into a parked vehicle and hitting curbs. Concerned citizens blocked the vehicle in while our officers were responding.
When officers attended, they conducted a Mandatory Alcohol Screening which she failed.
A 54-year-old female was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition; her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
If you suspect an impaired driver, please report it immediately to 911. Do not attempt to stop the vehicle yourself.
