On May 4, 2026, at 11:40 am, Norway House RCMP received a report that a firearm had been pointed at a 16-year-old female youth at a residence located on Hart Drive in Kinosao Sipi Cree Nation. The incident is believed to have occurred the night before.

Officers attended to this residence and placed a 17-year-old female youth under arrest for pointing a firearm. She was taken to the Norway House RCMP Detachment and later released from police custody for a court appearance scheduled for July 17 in the community.

Further investigation into this incident led officers to believe that the firearm used in this offence was now at a residence located on Walter Margaret Road in the community.

On May 8, 2026, a search warrant was executed within this residence where officers located and seized seven firearms and various rounds of ammunition for each of the firearms.

Additional charges are anticipated in relation to the unsafe storage of firearms.

Norway House RCMP continue to investigate.
