Dauphin RCMP arrest male multiple times for assaults

On May 15, at approximately 4 :10 a.m., RCMP responded to an assault at a restaurant on the 1500-block of Main Street in Dauphin.

Officers learned the suspect had been sitting with a 47-year-old male victim at a table inside the restaurant when an argument occurred. The suspect took the victim’s walking cane, hit him with it, then left the restaurant with the cane.

The victim did not require medical attention.

The suspect was arrested later that day without incident and subsequently released with conditions.

On May 18, at approximately 1:20 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of an assault occurring at a store on 1st Avenue Northeast in Dauphin. Officers learned the suspect, who is banned from visiting the store, was in the parking lot when a 16-year-old store employee advised he shouldn’t be on the property. The suspect threatened the male victim, briefly walked away, then came back and threw a rock at him. 

No one was injured.

RCMP located the suspect a short time later and arrested him.

Raiden Oshawee, 21, of Dauphin is charged in both incidents. Charges include:

  • Robbery;
  • Assault with a weapon; and
  • Uttering threats.

Oshawee was remanded into custody.
