On May 16, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the Ebb and Flow First Nation that resulted in six people being injured.

The collision, between an SUV and a side-by-side outdoor recreational vehicle, occurred at the intersection of Lake Road Northeast and Point Road South.

Five people were inside the side-by-side and all were injured to varying degrees, with a 17-year-old male passenger transported from the scene by air ambulance to hospital in Winnipeg. The 21-year-old female driver was taken to hospital in Dauphin, then transported to Winnipeg for further treatment. Both remain in hospital at last report.

Three other passengers – an 18-year-old female, 11-year-old female and a one-year-old girl – were treated and released from hospital in Dauphin.

The SUV’s driver – a 34-year-old female – fled the scene on foot. Officers located her at a nearby home and she was subsequently transported to hospital in Dauphin for treatment.

The cause of the collision is being investigated.
