Carberry RCMP arrest prolific community shoplifter

On April 27, 2026, at approximately 9:45 am, Carberry RCMP received a report of a stolen credit card that was last used at a business in Brandon.
The 62-year-old female victim also advised RCMP that the suspect had taken personal cheques and had attempted to use them.
By the time the victim realized the card was missing almost $6,800 had been charged.
Through their investigation, officers were able to identify a female suspect.
On May 15, 2026, police attended the suspect’s residence, and she was arrested without incident.
Aslinn Arason, 33, from Carberry, was remanded and charged with the following:
- Theft under $5,000 x 18
- Fraud less than or equal to $5,000
- Forgery
Arason was held until her court date.
Carberry RCMP continue to investigate.
