Update - RCMP investigating suspicious death in Carman

Update - Carman RCMP, in conjunction with RCMP Major Crime Services, have confirmed via autopsy, that the 52-year-old male from Carman, who’s body was located near the self-storage compound on 2nd Street North East in Carman on May 25, died as a result of a homicide.

On May 27, investigating officers arrested a 44-year-old male and a 36-year-old female in relation to this homicide. 

On May 28, 44-year-old Gordon Blaine McTaggart, of Killarney, was charged with Second degree murder and remanded into custody. The 36-year-old female was released without charge as it was determined she had no involvement in this homicide.

On May 25, at 1 :15 a.m., RCMP responded to a vehicle fire inside a self-storage compound on 2nd Street Northeast in Carman.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when RCMP arrived.

A deceased male was located near the burning vehicle.

RCMP Major Crime Services is investigating.
