St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP respond to a serious collision on Highway 59

On May 27, 2026, at 9:17 pm, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 59, at the intersection of Provincial Road 210 in the RM of Ritchot.
Officers responded immediately and observed two vehicles in the west side ditch of Highway 59, south of PR 210. One vehicle was on its roof with heavy damage to the passenger door and had rolled over many times prior to stopping. An SUV was fully engulfed in flames.
It was determined that the SUV was travelling south on Highway 59 when it collided with the grey vehicle crossing Highway 59, travelling west on the PR 210.
The driver of the grey vehicle, a 17-year-old from Ile Des Chenes, suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by STARS. He remains in critical condition. He was not wearing his seatbelt.
The driver of the SUV, a 43-year-old female from Steinbach, suffered from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital by ambulance.
There were no passengers in either of the vehicles involved.
St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP, along with the Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services, continue to investigate.
