Dauphin RCMP respond to collision in Riding Mountain National Park

On May 28, at approximately 8:55am, Dauphin RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle collision by Moon Lake in Riding Mountain National Park. Officers attended immediately with EMS and Park Wardens.

First responders extricated the lone occupant, a 76-year-old female. The driver was then transported to hospital in Dauphin with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was attempting to pass another vehicle when it went off the road, collided with some trees, and knocked one over,

The highway was closed for approximately 1 hour as a result.

The matter remains under investigation.
