On June 6, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers with the RCMP West District General Investigation Section were on patrol in Dauphin when they noted a male and female riding bicycles side by side in the middle of Dorothy Street.

The pair were pulled over by officers, who learned the pair had been charged last month in connection with a break and enter on Industrial Road. As part of their release orders following those charges, the court had ordered the pair to not have contact with one another.

The two suspects were arrested. A search of the male’s bag after the arrest uncovered numerous break-in instruments.

Kyle Sutherland, 35, of Dauphin is charged with:

  • Possessing break-in instruments; and
  • Failure to comply with a release order condition x2.

Geena Parenteau, 33, of Dauphin is charged with failure to comply with a release order condition.

Both were released the following day on release orders, following a court appearance.

They were also each ticketed under The Highway Traffic Act for riding a bicycle on the roadway of a highway that is not one-way and failing to drive as close as practicable to the right-hand curb. The ticket carries a $113 fine.
