Portage la Prairie RCMP seize meth, fentanyl following traffic stop

On June 9, at approximately 8:15 p.m., RCMP initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on 4th Street Northwest in Portage la Prairie.

The female driver of the vehicle was found to have a suspended license. A subsequent search of the suspect uncovered almost 19 grams of methamphetamine and nearly four grams of fentanyl, with a scale and other drug paraphernalia found and seized from the vehicle.

Alysha Bell, 24, of the RM of Portage la Prairie is charged with:

  • Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking x2; and
  • Failure to comply with a release order condition.

She also received a $672 ticket under The Highway Traffic Act for driving while disqualified. The vehicle she was driving was seized and impounded by RCMP.

Bell was set to make a court appearance Wednesday morning.
