On June 10, 2026, the Manitoba RCMP officially opened a new detachment in Berens River First Nation with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Construction of the 930m2 building began in June 2023 and was substantially completed in October 2025. The modern facility includes 330m2 dedicated to housing RCMP officers who regularly rotate into, and out of the community.

The opening of this new detachment reflects the RCMP’s ongoing and long-lasting commitment to the safety and security of the community. This modern facility will support our officers and residents for decades to come. We are proud to work alongside the community to deliver effective policing, built on trust, respect, and strong partnerships.”

— Superintendent Chris Hastie, Manitoba RCMP East District Commander

The hours of operations for the new detachment are Monday to Thursday from 12 pm to 6 pm and Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm. Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks as well as fingerprinting services are available. Berens River RCMP reminds all residents to call the detachment prior to attending as an appointment may be required.
