UPDATE: Dauphin RCMP locate suspect who fled from officer

UPDATE: This suspect was located about 45 minutes after the initial release was posted. RCMP thanks the public for their assistance.

On June 10, at approximately 9:55 a.m., RCMP on patrol in Dauphin witnessed a male riding on a dirt bike with no rear plates on 2^nd Avenue Northeast.

RCMP recognized the driver and attempted a traffic stop. Instead of slowing down, the driver sped up, turned down a back lane and was last seen heading east on Highway 20. In the interest of public safety, RCMP did not pursue.

Dalen Simmons, 28, of Dauphin is now wanted on an unendorsed warrant of arrest, with charges of:

• Flight from peace officer;
• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; and
• Failure to comply with a release order condition.
