Portage la Prairie RCMP respond to fatal workplace incident

On June 15, at approximately 10:30 a.m., RCMP were called to an apartment block on 14^th Street Northwest in Portage la Prairie after a male fell from the roof.

Upon arrival, officers saw EMS crews providing care to a person on the ground. Officers learned the male was working as a roofer when he fell approximately 12 to 15 feet to the ground. It does not appear he was wearing a safety harness at the time.

The male, a 25-year-old from Portage la Prairie, died at the scene.

RCMP and Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health are investigating.
