On June 15, 2026, at 1:14 a.m., Stonewall RCMP received a report of approximately 50 vehicles racing along the service road parallel to and north of the Perimeter Highway, between Highway 7 and Provincial Road 236 in the RM of Rosser.
Stonewall RCMP responded to that location and observed a number of vehicles travelling east on the service road, towards the officers, which is unusual considering the time of day. The lead vehicle was pulling away from the group and travelling 128 km/h in a posted 90 km/h speed zone.
Officers immediately stopped the vehicle. There were three occupants inside and the driver only had a learner’s permit. The passengers, both 20-year-old males from Winnipeg, did not have a driver’s licence.
The driver, a 21-year-old male from Winnipeg, received two provincial offence notices that amount to $751 in fines for:
- Speeding and
- As a novice driver in the learner stage, operating a class 5 vehicle without a supervising driver with an unauthorised front-seat passenger.
