Fisher Branch RCMP nabs suspended driver while speeding

On June 17, 2026, at 8 pm, Fisher Branch RCMP were travelling on Highway 17 in the RM of Fisher and observed a vehicle going 151 km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone.
The vehicle was stopped immediately. The officer obtained the driver’s licence and did a Mandatory Alcohol Screening. The driver blew a warn. Checks on the driver also revealed that his driver’s licence was suspended.
The driver, a 34-year-old male from Winnipeg with a total of $1390 in fines for speeding and driving while disqualified as well as a serious offence notice for licence review with MPI. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days and his drivers’ licence was suspended for 72 hours.
