RCMP respond to single-vehicle collision on Keeseekoowenin First Nation

On June 20, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Yellowhead RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 354, on the Keeseekoowenin First Nation.
Officers found an SUV on its side, then located three males who had been taken by a passerby to a nearby business. One of the three males, a 56-year-old from Keeseekoowenin, had been sitting in the front passenger seat when he was ejected when the crash occurred. He was transported to hospital in Minnedosa, where he died.
The two other males were not seriously injured. The driver was taken into custody on an unendorsed warrant of arrest.
Vincent Bone, 33, of Keeseekoowenin First Nation, is charged with:
- Operating a vehicle while prohibited; and
- Failure to comply with a release order condition x2.
He was also ticketed under The Highway Traffic Act for driving an unregistered vehicle, which carries a $298 fine.
Bone was remanded into custody.
The cause of the collision continues to be investigated.
