On June 20, at approximately 12:05 a.m., RCMP responded to a disturbance at a residence in southwest Dauphin.

Officers arrived and found an intoxicated 20-year-old female who had been threatening other residents in the home. RCMP attempted to take the female into custody but she resisted, kicking and threatening multiple officers. After a short struggle, she was placed into handcuffs and carried out of the residence.

As she was being placed inside the police vehicle by officers, a 46-year-old male confronted officers in an aggressive manner, with his fists up. After refusing multiple demands to step back, the male was arrested. He, too, resisted before being safely handcuffed.

When the suspects were brought to the detachment, the female continued to resist RCMP, kicked an officer and stomped on his foot.

The 20-year-old female faces charges of:

  • Assaulting a peace officer;
  • Uttering threats; and
  • Resisting arrest.

The 46-year-old male faces charges of obstructing a peace officer.

Both suspects were held in custody overnight and released in the morning with a future court date.
