On June 26, at approximately 10:30 p.m., RCMP responded to a disturbance on Oak Bay in Portage la Prairie.
Officers responded to the scene and located three female youths, who indicated that their 19-year-old brother has been hit with bear spray by an unknown individual.
The 19-year-old male declined medical attention. While at the scene, RCMP received a report that the male had shot a 14-year-old boy with a crossbow and arrow following an argument. The youth responded by using bear spray on the 19-year-old.
The youth was located, treated by paramedics for his injury and declined transport to hospital for further treatment.
Both were arrested.

A 14-year-old Portage la Prairie male faces charges of:
- Assault with a weapon; and
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Both were released from custody the following morning on undertakings.
