An 18-year-old Crane River First Nation male was charged with multiple weapons offences following an incident on June 28, 2026.

On June 28, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Ste Rose du Lac RCMP received a report that an armed adult male had come to a house on the Crane River First Nation and threatened to harm the father of someone who lived at the home.

Officers learned the suspect then left the area in an older red SUV.

While responding to the call, RCMP received a report that the same suspect was at a different home in the community, carrying both a handgun and a rifle. RCMP went to that home, noted an older red SUV parked in front of the residence and saw a suspect matching the description from the previous incident enter the home.

RCMP surrounded the home and made numerous attempts over a loud speaker instructing the suspect to surrender himself, with no response. RCMP Police Dog Services and Emergency Response Team (ERT), as well as members of the RCMP West District General Investigation Section, were called in to assist.

The suspect exited the home at approximately 11:20 p.m. and was arrested without incident. Multiple weapons were subsequently seized.

McGlare Campbell, 18, of Crane River First Nation is charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Uttering threats;
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
  • Possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized;
  • Weapons possession contrary to order;
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon; and
  • Using a firearm in the commission of an offence.

RCMP continue to investigate.
