Yellowhead RCMP arrest male after bar fight in Sandy Lake

On June 30, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Yellowhead RCMP received a report of bear spray being used on bar patrons during a fight in Sandy Lake.

Officers went to the scene, which was on Main Street in Sandy Lake. They learned the suspect confronted a 25-year-old Keeseekoowenin First Nation male, began assaulting him and pushed a 30-year-old female. At some point during the melee, bear spray was used inside the bar. The fight ended and the suspect left the scene.

The following night, RCMP located the suspect at a residence in Keeseekoowenin First Nation and arrested him without incident.

A 32-year-old male faces charges of:

  • Assault; and
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking.

He was released on a release order.
