On June 26, 2026, at 10 pm, Falcon Lake RCMP pulled over a vehicle travelling 170 km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone on Highway 1 near East Braintree in the RM of Reynolds.
A minivan was observed travelling west, catching up to the police vehicle at a dangerously high rate of speed. The vehicle slammed on its brakes as it noticed police in front of him. The vehicle was pulled over immediately.
His excuse: he wasn’t used to driving a minivan, he drives a small car at home!
The driver, a 23-year-old male from Thunder Bay, Ontario, was served with a speeding ticket for $996.
