On July 3, at approximately 11:35 a.m., Pembina Valley RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover in the RM of Dufferin.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Highway 3 and Road 14 West, when a red SUV turning south onto Road 14 crossed into oncoming traffic. An oncoming SUV swerved to avoid a collision, struck a culvert and rolled into a water-filled ditch, coming to rest on its roof.

A 47-year-old Oak Bluff male was able to get himself out of the vehicle and was treated at the scene by paramedics for his injuries.

The driver of the red SUV briefly stopped at the scene, then fled south on Road 14 West. The driver is described as female, African and wearing a purple shirt. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Pembina Valley RCMP at 204-822-4476, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or via secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.

The incident was the second serious collision that occurred in a matter of minutes in the area.

On July 3, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Pembina Valley RCMP responded to a serious head-on collision between a truck and a semi-trailer on Highway 30, south of the Highway 14 junction in the RM of Rhineland.

It appears the truck drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with the semi. The driver of the truck, a 78-year old male, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital in Winnipeg.
