Steinbach RCMP arrest three individuals, after theft at retail stores

On July 9th, 2026, at 5:40 pm, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a shoplifting in progress at a retail store located on the east side of Highway 12, in Steinbach.
It was reported that three suspects, two males and one female, stole valuable items and left in a stolen vehicle. The vehicle had been previously reported stolen from Winnipeg.
Officers immediately attended and began looking for the stolen vehicle. Shortly after, the vehicle was located parked at a different retail store on the west side of Highway 12, in Steinbach.
Officers entered the store to look for the suspects and were advised that two suspects had exited the business through a fire exit, and into a field.
A Remotely Piloted Aircraft system (RPAS) was deployed immediately and the two suspects, a male and a female, were located running north, through a field.
Officers entered the field and arrested them without incident. The third suspect was later located by Police at another commercial complex nearby.
All the stolen items from the two retail stores were recovered and returned. It is believed that the retail value of the goods is over $3,000.
A 23-year-old female from Winnipeg has been released on conditions with a pending court date for:
- Theft under $5000;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
Jason Roorda, a 39-year-old male from Winnipeg, has been remanded in custody for:
- Theft under $5000;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
- Fail to comply with a Release Order x 3.
Guy Frigault, a 40-year-old male from Winnipeg, has been remanded in custody for:
- Theft under $5000 x 2;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
- Fail to comply with a Release Order.
Steinbach RCMP continue to investigate.
