Thompson RCMP arrest shoplifter after assault

On July 11, 2026, at 2 :15 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of shoplifting from a business on Selkirk Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene and were able to apprehend the male suspect outside the store. While speaking to employees, police were advised that the male had also assaulted an employee before leaving.
The victim sustained minor injuries during the assault.
The 28-year-old male was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault;
- Theft under $5,000;
He was released on an Undertaking with appropriate conditions.
