Amaranth RCMP respond to fatal collision in the RM of Westlake-Gladstone

On July 14, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Amaranth RCMP responded to a serious collision at an uncontrolled intersection in the RM of Westlake-Gladstone.
The collision occurred when a southbound SUV travelling on Road 51 West collided with a pickup truck headed west on Road 94 North. When officers arrived, they saw pickup truck in the south ditch with a hydro pole leaning against it. An SUV was about 10 to 15 feet away, resting on its side. Both vehicles had extensive front-end damage.
The driver of the SUV, a 25-year-old male from the RM of Westlake-Gladstone, later died in hospital. The other driver, a 72-year-old male, had minor injuries.
RCMP are investigating the cause of the collision.
