Update # 3: Lac du Bonnet RCMP searching for two youths in Nutimik Lake

On July 22, 2026, at 7:30 pm., Lac du Bonnet RCMP received a report of a body near the shore on Nutimik Lake.
Manitoba RCMP can confirm they have now recovered the body of 10-year-old Maximo Au Ramirez
The search for the 13-year-old remains on-going.
Family notification has taken place.

The search continues for a fourth day to locate the 10 and 13-year-old boys who went missing in Nutimik Lake on July 18, 2026.
Once again, RCMP officers from the Lac du Bonnet detachment, HEART, and the Manitoba RCMP Marine Unit are all on scene continuing their search of the water as well as the shoreline with the use of drones.
The Lac du Bonnet RCMP reminds all boaters in the area to immediately report anything that may help locate the two children – this can include clothing, personal belongings, footwear or any other items in the water or along the shoreline that appear out of place.

The search continues today to locate the 10 and 13-year-old boys who went missing in Nutimik Lake on July 18, 2026.
RCMP officers from the Lac du Bonnet detachment, HEART, and the Manitoba RCMP Marine Unit are all on scene continuing their search of the water and the shorelines with the use of drones.
Volunteers in boats and personal watercraft (PWC) are also providing support in the on-going search effort.

On July 18, 2026, at 12:40 pm, Lac du Bonnet RCMP received a report of a possible drowning near Sturgeon Falls Trail in Nutimik Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park.
Officers immediately responded to the scene along with local Fire and EMS and learned that two boys, aged 10 and 13, had slipped into the fast-moving rapids and not resurfaced.
Manitoba RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) and the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) were deployed to assist in the search.
Despite extensive patrols on the water and along the shorelines, and further aided by the use of drones, both children have yet to be located.
RCMP officers along with URT and HEART remain on scene, continuing their search for the two boys.
