On July 15, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Swan River RCMP received a report that a teenage male working in the RM of Mountain was being followed by a male driving a vehicle.
RCMP learned the male was cutting grass on a riding lawn mower on the outskirts of Birch River when the vehicle approached, the driver staring at him. The employee felt unsafe and drove away, using back lanes and back roads while the vehicle followed behind him. This continued for at least 10 minutes until the employee successfully lost the suspect.
Officers learned the victim had experienced two similar incidents with the suspect over the past year, with the suspect seen recording video of the victim.
About two hours after the first incident, RCMP received a report that a male in his 50s working in the community was confronted by the same suspect, who proceeded to repeatedly threaten him.
RCMP went to the suspect’s home, where he was arrested without incident.
Nicolas Brading, 36, is charged with:
- Criminal harassment; and
- Uttering threats x2.
He was remanded into custody.
