On July 22, 2026, Manitoba RCMP North District Traffic Services were conducting patrols in a variety of areas in and around the community of The Pas.
At approximately 6:16 pm, officers were heading west on highway 283 approaching Marlow Road when a vehicle travelling east passed them at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was initiated after the vehicle was clocked at driving 126 km/hr. in a 100 km/hr. zone. A breath sample was also given from the lone male driver in the vehicle.
The 67-year-old from Flin Flon blew a Warn and admitted to consuming alcohol.
He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition resulting in a suspension of his driver’s license and his vehicle was towed. A fine of $391.00 for speeding was also issued.
Then, at 7:30 pm, the same officer was westbound on Ralls Island Road, when they observed a vehicle heading towards them at a high rate of speed.
This time, the female driver was recorded travelling at 107 km/hr. in a 70km/hr. zone.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver could not produce a driver’s license. A child was also observed in the back of the vehicle not in a car seat.
The 32-year-old from Ralls Island was issued fines under the Highway Traffic Act totaling $838 for her violations.
