St. Pierre-Jolys arrest male for impaired driving, seized firearm

On September 10, 2026, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a recreation area on Provincial Road 216, near Grunthal, in the RM of Hanover. 

Officers responded and the vehicle was no longer there. After further patrols of the area, the vehicle was located travelling north on PR 216, leaving Grunthal. A traffic stop was immediately initiated.  

After a Mandatory Alcohol Screening request, the driver subsequently failed the test and was arrested for impaired driving.  

Officers also found a non-restricted firearm in the back of the vehicle, along with ammunition. 

The driver, a 27-year-old male from the RM of Tache, was released on conditions with a pending court date for the following offences:

  • Impaired operation of a conveyance
  • Impaired operation of a conveyance over 80 mg%
  • Careless use of a firearm

St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP continue to investigate.
