Swan River GIS arrests 10 people as part of drug trafficking investigation

Ten people face drug trafficking offences after the Swan River General Investigation Section (GIS) executed search warrants at four residences last week.
The warrants were executed at two homes on Parkview Drive on Oct. 1, followed by a residence on 7th Avenue South and a home on Main Street on Oct. 2.
In total, RCMP found and seized approximately 50 grams of cocaine, 252 prescription pills, and $7,450 in cash from the four residences, plus packaging materials and drug-related paraphernalia.
Local GIS officers were supported at the scenes by officers from Swan River RCMP, the Manitoba West District GIS, Manitoba West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), the Manitoba Integrated Law Enforcement Team (MILET) and RCMP Police Dog Services.
Tyson Burwash, 46, of Swan River is charged with:
- Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking x3;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and
- Obtaining sexual services for consideration.
Travis Neely, 46, of Swan River is charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Phillip Spence, 43, of Swan River is charged with:
- Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking x4; and
- Failure to comply with an undertaking condition x2.
Collin Kosolowsky, 43, of Swan River is charged with:
- Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking x2; and
- Failure to comply with an undertaking condition.
Michael Makasoff, 38, of Swan River is charged with:
- Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking; and
- Resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
All were remanded into custody.
Additionally, two Swan River females – ages 41 and 44 – face two charges each of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
A 41-year-old male from the RM of Minitonas-Bowsman and a 35-year-old Swan River female each face a charge of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
A 35-year-old female from the Pine Creek First Nation face charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
These four individuals were all released on undertakings.
