On Oct. 7, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Yellowhead RCMP received a report of an ATV rollover on a the Keeseekoowenin First Nation.

RCMP arrived at the scene and found paramedics treating an injured 25-year-old Brandon male, who was transported to hospital in critical condition.

Officers learned two ATVs were travelling south on a trail at a high rate of speed alongside a truck riding on the road. One of the ATVs hit an approach at a road crossing and went airborne, causing the driver to lose control and be thrown from the quad.

The driver of the second ATV, a 19-year-old Keeseekoowenin male, was located and subsequently arrested at his residence. He faces impaired driving charges.

The male was released on an appearance notice, with a court hearing scheduled for December. His name can not be publicly released until charges are sworn.

RCMP continue to investigate.
