Swan River GIS arrests four as part of drug trafficking investigation

On Oct. 8, at approximately 5:10 p.m., RCMP executed search warrants at two Swan River residences as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
The investigation was led by the Swan River General Investigation Section (GIS), with support from Swan River RCMP detachment officers and the RCMP West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST). Officers arrested three males at the homes, located on the 300-block of 5th Avenue South.
A fourth suspect that was seen leaving the residence minutes earlier was arrested a short distance away.
RCMP subsequently located and seized prescription medications, drug paraphernalia and $545 in cash as a result of the search warrants.
Marino Thrones, 53, of Swan River is charged with:
- Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000; and
- Mischief under $5,000.
Thrones was released on a released order.
Three Swan River – ages 53, 52 and 20 – each face charges of:
- Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking; and
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The three males were all released on undertakings. Their names can’t be publicly confirmed until charges are sworn.
