On Oct. 24, 2026, at 8 p.m., St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a two-vehicle-collision at the intersection of Provincial Road 23 and Provincial Road 200 in the RM of De Salaberry.

Police immediately went to the scene, as did local firefighters and paramedics, and a STARS air ambulance.

Officers learned the vehicle had five occupants and was travelling north on PR 200 when it collided with a semi-truck travelling east on PR 23. The semi-truck jack-knifed in the eastbound lane and tipped over into the ditch. The other vehicle was in south ditch of PR 23, facing west.

The vehicle driver, a 19-year-old male from the RM of Stuartburn, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passengers included a 16-year-old female and 17-year-old male, both from Dominion City, as well as a 16-year-old female from the RM of Franklin. They were taken to hospital with multiple injuries.

A fourth passenger – a 19-year-old male from Dominion City – was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 27-year-old male from Winnipeg, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP, along with Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services, continue to investigate.
