On October 30, 2026, at 9:20 a.m., as the result of an ongoing investigation, Lynn Lake RCMP along with assistance from Leaf Rapids RCMP, and Manitoba RCMP North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) executed a search warrant at a residence on Sherritt Avenue in Lynn Lake.

Once inside the home, officers seized approximately $20,000 in Canadian currency and approximately three ounces of cocaine.

The initial investigation determined the male homeowner of the residence, who was known to police, had departed approximately 30 minutes earlier headed for Thompson.

With assistance from Thompson RCMP General Investigative Services unit, the vehicle the suspect was travelling in was intercepted on highway 391, near the junction of Nelson House.

A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect, a 58-year-old male, was arrested and faces the following charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and
  • Possession of ammunition contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization

The male was later released on an appearance notice.

Lynn Lake RCMP and CREST continue to investigate.
