A 15-year-old youth has been charged in connection with a break and enter, theft, and mischief in Moncton, N.B.
On January 8, 2025, the Codiac Regional RCMP received a report of a break, enter, and theft at an automotive dealership on Main Street in Moncton. An individual broke a window to gain entry to the business, stole a vehicle and drove through the garage door. Several other vehicles on the dealership’s property were also intentionally damaged.
When police arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. Early in the investigation, police were able to locate the stolen vehicle and disable it using technology made available to them. A 15-year-old youth, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested on Salisbury Road without incident. Subsequently, police conducted a search of the vehicle and seized items used in connection with the break and enter.
On January 8, the youth appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with:
• Break and enter
• Mischief under $5000
• Theft of a vehicle
The youth was released from custody, and will return to court on January 22 to enter a plea.
The investigation is ongoing.
