The New Brunswick RCMP has arrested seven individuals from the Tracadie N.B. region, and charges have been laid against a 39-year-old man following two break, enter and thefts, in Tracadie and Inkerman, N.B.

On January 7, 2025, at approximately 5:24 a.m., members of the Tracadie RCMP responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a business on Rue Principale in Tracadie. An individual forcefully gained entry to the business by breaking a door, and stole a quantity of cigarettes and lottery tickets. Early in their investigation, police identified a 39-year-old man as a person of interest.

Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained and executed on January 9, 2025, at a residence on Rue Pointe-à-Bouleau, in Pointe-à-Bouleau, N.B. During the search, members of the Northeast District RCMP, the New Brunswick RCMP’s Northeast District Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services seized a number of items connected to the break, enter and theft, and a quantity of what is believed to be cocaine. The 39-year-old person of interest was not at the residence at the time of the search.

On January 17, 2025, the 39-year-old man from Tracadie located and was arrested in Six Roads without incident, and remanded into custody. Police later confirmed he was also responsible for a break, enter and theft at a business on Route 113 in Inkerman that occurred earlier the same morning of his arrest.

Throughout the investigation, six other individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation:

•    A 59-year-old man from Tracadie, N.B.
•    A 53-year-old man from Tracadie, N.B.
•    A 55-year-old man from Tracadie, N.B.
•    A 44-year-old woman from Tracadie, N.B.
•    A 33-year-old woman from Four Roads, N.B.
•    A 33-year-old woman from Tracadie, N.B.

They were later released on conditions pending future court dates.

On January 20, 2025, 39-year-old Guy Doiron appeared in Bathurst Provincial Court and was charged with:

•    Fail to comply with an undertaking
•    Break and enter
•    Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
•    Disguised with intent to commit an offence
•    Possession of break-in instruments

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to reappear in Bathurst Provincial Court on February 3, 2025, for a bail hearing.

"As a result of tips generated by the public and good police work, we were able to identify individuals of interest and make arrests," said Cpl. Danny Cyr with the Tracadie RCMP Detachment. "The investigation is still ongoing and we are working diligently to hold those responsible for these crimes, and determine if they are related to other unresolved investigations in the region.”

The investigation is ongoing.
