A man and a woman have been arrested following a police operation on Mountain Road, in Moncton, N.B.
On January 10, 2025, the New Brunswick RCMP conducted a police operation on Mountain Road near the intersection of Glen Eagles Drive, in connection with an ongoing investigation.
As a result of the operation, a 45-year-old man from Haute-Aboujagane, N.B., and a 41-year-old woman from Moncton, N.B., were arrested at the scene without incident. The 45-year-old man was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on January 15. The 41-year-old woman was later released, and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court at a later date.
“We understand that events like this can be concerning for members of the public”, said Sgt. Ricky LeBlond of the Caledonia Region RCMP. “We take all necessary precautions when conducting police operations. There was no risk to the public at the time of the arrests, public safety remains our top priority.”
Members of the New Brunswick RCMP’s Caledonia Region, Shediac and Sackville detachments, along with the RCMP’s Southeast Crime Reduction Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Moncton’s Integrated Enforcement Unit collaborated in making these arrests.
The Codiac Regional RCMP also assisted with the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
