Individual charged following child pornography investigation

A 42-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., has been charged in connection with an investigation into possession of child pornography and breach of a prohibition order.

The investigation, led by the New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, began in January 2023, when police received information from RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.

On August 30, 2023, members of the ICE Unit, Codiac Regional RCMP, and the RCMP’s Digital Forensic Services Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Midway Drive in Moncton as part of the investigation. Police seized several electronic devices and the 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He was later released on strict conditions pending a future court appearance. 

On May 29, 2024, 42-year-old Louis Guy Joseph Bourque was charged with breach of a prohibition order in relation to a file from 2019

On July 24, 2024, Louis Guy Joseph Bourque appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and entered a not guilty plea. A trial date was set for January 30, 2026.

The New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.
