RCMP seeking public’s help following suspicious death of four dogs

The Richibucto RCMP is asking for the public's help as part of its ongoing investigation into the suspicious death of four dogs in Bass River, N.B.

On January 11, 2025, at approximately 4:58 p.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP received a report of four deceased dogs in front of a residence on Route 116, in Bass River. Police began an investigation.

On January 13, the New Brunswick SPCA attended the scene and seized the dogs from the property. Following a necropsy, the use of a firearm is believed to be the cause of their deaths, and the RCMP has taken carriage of the file. 

Police are now looking for information in relation to this incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
