An 18-year-old woman from Waterville, Sunbury County, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision in the same community.

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 8:08 a.m., members of the Oromocto RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Waterville Road, in Waterville, Sunbury County.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the first vehicle, travelling westbound, struck the second vehicle that was stopped facing the same direction. The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, an 18-year-old woman, was outside of her vehicle at the time of the collision, causing her vehicle to collide with her.

The 18-year-old woman died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the first vehicle was uninjured.

Members of the Oromocto Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office attended the scene. A New Brunswick RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, although criminality is not believed to be a factor. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the woman's exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
