A 28-year-old man from Sussex Corner has been charged in connection with multiple offences in the community.
On January 14, 2025, members of the Sussex RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a business on Léonard Drive, in Sussex. Police quickly arrested a 28-year-old man without incident in connection with the investigation. He was later released pending a future court appearance.
On March 5, 2025, police received a call for a report of a break and enter that had happened at a residence on O’Connell Street in Sussex. Police began an investigation and on March 31, 2025, they located and arrested the same 28-year-old man. He was remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.
On April 7, 2025, 28-year-old Kyle Truchon appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with one count of break and enter for the March 5 incident. He was released from custody with conditions, including house arrest and wearing an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle.
On April 26, 2025, police received notification that Kyle Truchon was in breach of his conditions.
On April 27, 2025, members of the Sussex RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Sussex Corner and arrested Kyle Truchon at the scene without incident. During the search, police seized a loaded handgun, what is believed to be methamphetamine, and $5700 in counterfeit $100 bills. He was remanded into custody, pending a future court appearance.
On April 28, 2025, Kyle Truchon appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm without a licence, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of counterfeit money. He was remanded into custody and will appear back in court on May 1, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. for a bail hearing.
