Update, March 30, 2026: On March 26, 2026, Miles Burton Johnson, and Miles Johnson Jr, both from Saint Stephen, appeared in Saint John Provincial Court. 63-year-old Miles Burton Johnson pleaded guilty to breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence and assault with a weapon. The charge of robbery laid on April 10, 2025, was dismissed. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court on May 26, 2026, at noon for sentencing. 23-year-old Miles Johnson Jr pleaded guilty to breaking and entering to commit an indictable offence and uttering threats against a person. The charge of robbery laid on April 10, 2025, was dismissed. He was remanded into custody and will return to court on May 26, 2026, at noon for sentencing. On February 11, 2025, a 20-year-old woman from Saint John was arrested without incident. On February 12, 2025, 20-year-old Samantha Irene Steward from Saint John appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon. She was released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court on May 14, 2026, at 11 a.m.
A 22-year-old man, 62-year-old man, 29-year-old man, and a 19-year-old man have all been arrested following a home invasion in Oak Bay, N.B.
On April 8, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP detachment responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence in Oak Bay. Five individuals had forcefully gained entry to the residence while the homeowners were present. One individual was armed with a weapon and assaulted one of the homeowners, who suffered minor injuries. The suspects fled the scene with undisclosed medications prior to police arrival.
A short time later, two RCMP officers were returning from a community meeting when they came across the fleeing suspects. The officers exited their vehicle and immediately initiated an arrest. A 22-year-old man, 62-year-old man, 29-year-old man, and a 19-year-old man, all from Charlotte County, were arrested. Police are still searching for a fifth individual in connection with the incident.
The 62-year-old man has since been released from custody on an appearance notice and will appear in court at a later date. The other three men remain in custody.
Police believe that this was a targeted incident, and there is no risk to public safety.
