RCMP seeking public’s help following intentionally set wildfires

The Richibucto RCMP is seeking the public's help in connection with a series of wildfires in Kouchibouguac, N.B.

On April 21, 2025, at approximately 12:21 p.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP received a report of multiple wildfires at a park along Route 117 and Route 134 in Saint-Louis-de-Kent.

Once on scene, police discovered a total of three wildfires. The Beaurivage Fire Department and Park Warden Services were also on scene. The fires were quickly extinguished, and no one was injured during the incident.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the fires had been intentionally set.

The RCMP and Park Warden Service are currently investigating the cause of the wildfires and working closely with Kouchibouguac National Park officials and other partnering agencies.
