The New Brunswick RCMP has conducted a major traffic enforcement operation in Vallée-des-Rivières, N.B., during an Outlaw Motorcycle Club (OMC) ride, which resulted in arrests, the seizure of a prohibited firearm, several tickets being issued, and three roadside suspensions.

Between May 16, and May 18, 2025, members of the St-Leonard RCMP Detachment, along with several RCMP specialized policing services such as the Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit, Tactical Support Group, Provincial Crime Reduction Unit, Intelligence Units, and Air services, conducted a major traffic enforcement operation during an annual OMC ride held on May 17 in Vallée-des-Rivières. The RCMP was assisted by the Saint John Police Force, Kennebacasis Regional Police Force, Woodstock Police Force, Edmundston Police Force, Miramichi Police Department, Grand Falls Police Department, Beresford-Nigadoo-Petit-Rocher and Pointe-Verte Regional Police Force, New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety, and Sûreté du Québec during the operation.

The enforcement operation included the inspection of motorcycles for compliance with the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) and proactive patrols throughout the long weekend, resulting in a significant number of MVA violations being issued, as well as three roadside suspensions related to alcohol.

A 39-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving, resisting arrest, and possession of a stolen handgun. A 54-year-old man was arrested for obstruction and assault on a police officer. Both individuals were later released on undertakings to appear in court at a later date.

The police operation aimed to uphold public safety and maintain law and order throughout the long weekend.

"The New Brunswick RCMP has made a concerted effort to be present when Outlaw Motorcycle Club events are being held across the province, " said Cpl. Hans Ouellette of the New Brunswick RCMP. “Anytime the RCMP is aware of a gathering of members from known OMCs, we make sure we have an adequate police presence to ensure everyone’s safety."

Outlaw Motorcycle Club members continue to use violence and intimidation to gain territory when it comes to illicit markets.

The St-Leonard RCMP would like to thank all the partnering agencies as well as the public for their cooperation and understanding during this operation.
