The St. Stephen RCMP is asking for the public’s help following a hit and run involving a pedestrian that occurred in 2024, in St. Stephen, N.B.

On October 3, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP Detachment and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Pleasant Street in St. Stephen. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, had been struck by a vehicle and died at the scene as a result of her injuries.

Police have reason to believe that the woman was struck by a vehicle travelling Eastbound on Pleasant Street. The vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Police are releasing a photo of a vehicle that is believed to be involved in this incident, and are seeking help from anyone that may be able to identify the vehicle, or anyone who has information that could help further the investigation.

“We recognize that the photo quality is quite poor and hard to make out, but unfortunately at this time it is the only photo we have and is currently our best hope of furthering this investigation,” says Sgt. Scott Mackenzie with the St. Stephen RCMP.

If you were travelling in the area and witnessed the collision or have dash-cam footage, local security footage, or if you have information that could help further the investigation, please contact the St. Stephen RCMP at 506-466-7030. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
