The West District RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit has arrested a 27-year-old man from Tobique First Nation in connection with a shooting incident on Tobique First Nation, N.B.
On July 5, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., members of the Perth-Andover and Tobique RCMP detachments responded to a report of a shooting on Tobique First Nation. When police arrived, they located a 32-year-old man who was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transferred to hospital with what were believed to be serious, life-threatening injuries.
The West District RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit began investigating the incident with assistance from RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Services, and members of the Tobique RCMP.
Later the same day, police arrested a 27-year-old man from Tobique First Nation in connection with the investigation. He was later released, pending a future court appearance.
