A 36-year-old man from Fredericton, N.B., has been charged in connection with an investigation into child pornography.

The investigation, led by the New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, began in July 2024, following information received from the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.

On February 25, 2025, members of the New Brunswick RCMP ICE Unit, members of the Fredericton Police Force, and the RCMP's Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant at a residence in Fredericton, N.B. A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and police seized several electronic devices as part of their investigation. He was later released on conditions, pending a future court appearance.

On July 3, 2025, 36-year-old Travis Carrier appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court and was charged with possession of child pornography, transmission of child pornography, luring a child he believed to be under the age of eighteen to commit an offence, luring a child he believed to be under the age of sixteen to commit an offence, and fail to comply with his undertaking. He was scheduled to return to court on July 24, 2025.

Throughout the investigation, information was received from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, Criminal Investigations Division, and the Criminal Investigations Unit/Sex Crimes Unit, which assisted the New Brunswick ICE RCMP to lay additional charges.

" This is a good example of how we can partner with other agencies to achieve successful outcomes in criminal investigations," said Cst. Martine Losier-Roy from the New Brunswick RCMP. "The successful conclusion of this file, including the additional charges that were laid, demonstrates how coordinated efforts between agencies can significantly enhance the reach and effectiveness of criminal investigations."
