One man charged and one arrested following seizure of drugs

A 32-year-old man has been charged, while a 24-year-old man, both from Campobello Island, has been arrested following a check stop in Oak Bay, N.B.
On August 9, 2025, at approximately 11 p.m., members of the St. Andrews and St. George RCMP conducted a check stop on Highway 170 in Oak Bay, where the driver, a 24-year-old man from Campobello Island was found to be prohibited from driving. He was arrested but later released. The passenger, a 32-year-old man, also from Campobello Island, was arrested for failing to comply with the conditions of a release order and tampering with an ankle monitoring device. He was remanded into custody.
Subsequent to the arrests, police executed a search of the vehicle and seized quantities of what is believed to be methamphetamine.
On August 10, 2025, 32-year-old Kaleb Mathews, appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with failure to comply with the conditions of a release order. He was sentenced to 30 days in custody.
