RCMP seeking public’s help following ATV crash

The Hampton RCMP is seeking the public's help following a single-all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) crash in a wooded area near Barnesville, New Brunswick.

On September 27, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., members of the Hampton RCMP responded to a report of a crash involving an ATV in a wooded area near Barnesville, New Brunswick.

The incident is believed to have occurred when the driver of an ATV lost control of his vehicle while going up a steep hill. The vehicle rolled over, and the driver became pinned under it. A 27-year-old man from Midland, N.B., who is believed to be the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information regarding the circumstances around the man’s death. It is believed this incident was part of an event or rally with multiple people in attendance.

Members of the St. Martins and Upham Fire Departments, Ambulance New Brunswick, and a member of the Coroner’s Office also attended the scene. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
